Key Advantages

Challenges

Prop Pulse offers two main ways to work with clients through challenges.

First is the Evaluation phase, which begins when someone buys a challenge. Prop Pulse allows brokers to create as many challenges as they want with multiple steps and up to 20 objectives per step. Brokers can also decide if these challenges are free or paid.

Once a trader passes their challenge, Brokers may invite them to the partnership phase. This is where the trader gets a funded account, shares profits with the broker, and plans to scale the funds.

Dashboards

Prop Pulse comes with easy-to-read dashboards that are transparent and simple to track. It shows brokers which accounts are winning and which aren’t doing well. Brokers’ teams can quickly see who’s passing challenges, check account balances, and spot failed objectives.

Risk Management

Prop Pulse combines manual and automatic processes to help traders move smoothly through challenge phases. Brokers can set custom risk limits that automatically close all open positions if a trader breaks the rules. The system can also switch accounts to “read-only” status when traders fail specific pre-defined objectives.

Multi-platform Support & Integrations

Prop Pulse is for brokers using cTrader and MetaTrader 4 and 5. It integrates with the broker’s tech stack, including popular trading platforms, a liquidity management solution, PSPs, and a CRM system.

FAQs

What is prop trading?

Proprietary trading, or prop trading, is when financial institutions use their capital for trading activities. To find and fund skilled traders, they use solutions like Prop Pulse, which lets them set up trading challenges to evaluate candidates. Traders who pass these evaluations are then given the firm’s funds to trade and generate profits, which are shared between the trader and the firm. Prop trading firms provide traders access to capital, technology, and market data, allowing them to trade without using their money.

How does prop trading work?

Prop firms hire traders or fund independent traders after they pass challenges. The firm provides capital and trading tools, while traders execute strategies following the firm’s risk management rules, such as maximum drawdown limits. Profits are typically split between the trader and the firm according to an agreed percentage.

How is prop trading different from retail trading?

Retail traders use their money to keep all profits but have limited capital. Prop traders use the firm’s money (much larger amounts), share profits with the firm, follow strict risk rules, and get professional tools and mentorship. Prop traders can take bigger positions without risking their savings. Some key differences are:

Funding Source: Prop traders use the firm’s capital, whereas retail traders use their funds.

Risk and Reward: Prop traders can manage larger amounts of capital but must follow firm rules and share profits. Retail traders have complete control over their trades but are limited by their capital.

Access: Retail trading is open to anyone with a minimum deposit, while prop trading often requires demonstrating trading skills to access firm capital.
